Indoor & Outdoor Renovations

What comes to mind when you think of the word “renovation”? Perhaps an updated bathroom, or new cupboards in the kitchen. In truth, renovations can be as small or as grand as you can imagine. In the over 30 years we’ve worked in the Okanagan, we’ve undertaken countless renovations to upgrade and improve homes and lifestyles for our clients. Here are some of the potential renovations you can consider.

Outdoor projects

We can update drab, plain, or unwelcoming outdoor spaces into lush landscapes. Our renovations can focus on entertaining, privacy, or aesthetics. We can incorporate or install large features, such as swimming pools, decks, hot tubs, or fountains into our outdoor renovations. Get the backyard life you’ve always dreamed of with a renovation project.

Kitchens

You can potentially increase the value of your home with a kitchen renovation. Replace old appliances with modern energy-saving ones with high-tech features. Restructure counters with new quartz, granite, or butcher block tops. Switch out laminate flooring for engineered hardwood or foot-friendly cork. Add a pantry or larder for extra convenience.

Bathrooms

A popular project, bathroom renovations can update old plumbing and fixtures, incorporate spa features, and install custom items such as freestanding tubs or rainfall showers. Update structural features, such as beams and windows, or refresh a space with new tile, mirrors, and wallpaper.

Full home

Some clients love their home but need an all-over update. We help you plan a full home renovation to handle structural and design changes in every room. For significant plumbing, electrical, and architectural changes, a full home renovation helps ensure a successful project.

Home Additions

If you love where you live and don’t want to move, but find your home doesn’t quite fulfil your needs, consider a home addition. You can add space and comfort with a kitchen addition, sunroom, rear extension, outdoor living space, or garage expansion.

Consult our expert design team for recommendations on adding a bedroom, home office, or private entrance. We can also consult on carriage houses, mother in law suites, or rental suites.

Make your home feel brand new—without the hassle of moving—with a custom renovation or addition. To get started on your own project, contact Keith Construction today for a consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do home renovations require a building permit?

Depending on the scope and type of your renovation, you may need building permits. We have over 30 years of experience in building and renovating in the Okanagan, and can guide you through the permit process. We ensure that all needed permits are obtained for your custom renovation.

Can you claim home renovations or improvements on your taxes in Canada?

Renovations made to improve mobility and safety for seniors and people with disabilities can often qualify for a tax credit. A meeting with a tax professional is the best way to establish if your renovation will qualify you for a tax break.

What is the most profitable home renovation?

In terms of resale value, our clients usually see the most benefit from kitchen upgrades, flooring updates, new roofing, and new siding. However, the exact return on any project is subject to the market conditions and buyer priorities. As a general rule, though, investing in your kitchen is a sound idea.

Do home renovations come with warranty?

We offer renovation warranties on all contractor supplied work and materials (in conjunction with the manufacturer’s warranties) for a period of one year.

What green renovations will improve the efficiency of my house?

We offer many renovation and upgrade types that can improve the efficiency of your home. From new windows and doors to Energy Star appliances, we can make the most cost-effective recommendations for your situation.

How long do bathroom renovations take to finish on average?

The timeline depends on the scope of your project, as well as issues such as plumbing that may need to be replaced or structural changes. On average, a simple complete bathroom renovation can take 4-6 weeks. We work with you to detail a timeline that works with your budget and schedule.

How long do kitchen renovations take to finish on average?

The timeline depends on the scope of your project, but kitchen renovations can take longer than other rooms. This is because of the complexities of wiring, plumbing, appliances, and cabinets. On average, a complete kitchen renovation can take up to 4 months. We work with you to detail a timeline that works with your budget and schedule.
